Marcus Horth:

Guitar, Vocals, Accent

Born in the UK in the mid to late seventies, Marcus was transplanted to Greensboro NC at the tender age of fourteen and forced into the cruel and unusual task of attending an American high school in 1990.  He has been playing guitar for 11(eleven) years.  Marcus was the lead guitarist in his first band "Wish for Fish" which was formed at Grimsley high school in 1992 and played until 1997.  They played at Ziggy's in Winston Salem several times as well as other venues across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  After the demise of Wish for Fish, Marcus started Megelen, a band he wrote and performed with from 1998-2002 growing as a writer/composer and musician. For Marcus the Apothecaries is a chance for him to incorporate a lot of different styles and ideas.  Some of his main influences are The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, John Schofield, John Mclaughlin, The Mahavishnu Orchestra and Ravi Shankar.  He sees himself as essentially a spiritual guitar player who needs to grow and explore music.
