LIVE FOOD, as it is used here, refers to plant-based (vegetarian) foods purchased unheated and unprocessed and prepared entirely at low temperatures (less than 105°F).  According to advocates of Live Food, contend this method of preparation insures vastly more available and unaltered nutrition than its cooked counterpart.  The term "Raw Food" is often used synonymously with Live Food," and the term "Living Foods" (i.e.: sprouted or germinated) is encompassed by these terms.

 

WHY LIVE FOODS?

Best for the Body -- We believe that the closer we live to nature, the healthier we will be. The way food is found in nature, raw and unprocessed, is the way it was meant to be consumed.

There are 4 main reasons to enjoy your food raw and alive.

  1. Living food contains enzymes necessary for proper digestion. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats each require a specific type of enzyme to break down properly, and heat destroys these enzymes. Without them, your body will be forced to transmute enzymes, slowing or halting other processes within the body, causing aging and a loss of vitality, and creating the conditions in which disease will flourish.
     
  2. Living food contains bioelectric potential. Inherited from the Sun, the electric potential of living food supports healing in the body. Processing and heat destroy this charge, leaving only a remnant of the Sun’s energy left for the body to use in rebuilding.
     
  3. Living food is alkaline-forming in the body. The body of a frugivore is meant to be alkaline, or non-acidic. (Humans, apes and chimpanzees are frugivores, meaning they are best suited to consume fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds) Because the waste products of metabolism are acidic, an acidic state in the body will retain toxins, causing toxemia, inervation, disease and cancer.
     
  4. The unknown… humans are only beginning to realize the effects of chemically altering food with heat. Almost all degenerative diseases can be linked to eating unnatural foods.

Best for the Planet -- Living foods (especially organic) contain as much as 90% more nutrition than their cooked counterparts, and equip the body to absorb about 3 ½ times more of those nutrients, meaning that as much as 95% of the processed food's value has been degraded.

Living foods, categorically, are vegan and vegetarian foods that will sustain forty times more humans than if fed to livestock. Livestock consume copious amounts of land, water and drugs, costing you and the planet incalculable amounts, not to mention leaving a huge pollutant problem behind.

Why not? With the cost of health care and insurance, we cannot afford to put ourselves and our planet at risk.
