What is LIVE FOOD?
"LIVE FOOD" - as it is used in this sense, refers to food that has not been heated to temperatures above that at which life thrives (about 110F), nor has in any other way been degraded from its native state. Unprocessed Raw food is generally live, so the words are interchangeable for the most part. I use "Live" as opposed to "Raw" because the opposite of Raw Food is Cooked Food, whereas the opposite of Live Food is Dead Food. (Or Dead Non-Food, as I believe)
Because animal products must be cooked (killed) before eating, they are not suitable in a Live Food Diet.
Why LIVE Food?
There is substantial evidence to support the fact that Live and Living Foods possess the most healing and nurturing power of any of the foods we eat. This is thought to be linked to trace quantities of chemicals caused "Enzymes" that are lost when food is cooked or processed. Discovered in the 20's, enzymes in food are believed to be catalysts required to break it down correctly. According to research, if the enzymes have been stripped from the food we eat, the body will divert enzymes from our organs to allow for more complete digestion. The net affect this has on the body is aging, ailment, disease and premature death.
Why do I avoid Cooked Food?
There are three main reasons why I believe cooked food is inappropriate for consumption:
1. Cooked food is devoid of Enzymatic nutrition - Because cooked food lacks enzymes required to digest food, eating a cooked meal deals a blow to the organs, robbing them of necessary enzymes. The food-coma we feel after a big meal is our body shutting down from diverting enzymes.
2. Cooked food has been chemically altered - We learn in science class about physical and chemical changes. One thing we know about a chemical change is that the product is irreversibly changed from its original state. Cooked food is not food at all, but a chemically-altered remnant of food. One example of this is Linseed (Flax) oil. Linseed oil is used as a supplement and ingredient in food when unrefined, but cooked linseed becomes varnish, as will any other oil. Linseed Oil is so effective as a varnish, it is used to coat the hull of a boat to make it waterproof. What affect would my consuming varnish have on the filters I have been given to extract nutrients from food?
3. Cooked food is out of balance - Once a food has been cooked (or pasteurized, which is also cooking.) it must be held at a temperature below 40F or above 180F (140F truly, 180 recommended) to prevent the growth of dangerous bacteria - not the good kind that was originally clear-cut by the cooking practice. It will be years before man understands the importance of "good" bacteria in the diet, and the danger of leaving ourselves and our children underexposed.

violently opposed.
Finally it is accepted as self evident."
